Lisa Tipping has a diverse work experience history. Lisa started their career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting as a Director, where they worked from 1992 to 1999. Lisa then moved on to Standards New Zealand, serving as the GM of Business Relationships from 1999 to 2007. Lisa joined Housing New Zealand Corporation in 2007 as the General Manager of Governance & Assurance, where they played a key role in managing various responsibilities during a period of significant change in social housing policy settings. In 2011, Lisa transitioned to Ernst & Young as an Associate Director in Advisory until 2013 when they established their independent consulting firm, LT Consulting. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as an Independent Consultant/Contractor. Lisa then took on roles at Philanthropy New Zealand as an Independent member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee from 2017 to 2019, and at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa as the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee from 2006 to 2010. Lisa also served as a Trustee at Springboard Arts Trust from 2018 to 2021. Currently, Lisa is a Member of the Risk & Audit Committee at the Ministry of Social Development since 2021. Lisa'smost recent role from 2016 was at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, initially as the Chief Financial Officer where their responsibilities expanded to include accountability for the Te Papa Foundation, and subsequently as the Chief Operations Officer (Acting).
Lisa Tipping completed their Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at the University of Canterbury from 1984 to 1986. In 2005, they participated in the Leadership Development Programme at the Mt Eliza Business School. Additionally, Lisa attended the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2002, although no specific degree or field of study was provided.
