Dane Tullock has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Their most recent role is as the Director of Life Sciences at the Museum of Discovery and Science, where they are responsible for overseeing animal collections, habitat design, and safety protocols. Prior to this, they held multiple positions at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, including Curator of the Barchelor Environmental Centers & Animal Acquisitions, Curator of Animal Husbandry, Manager of the Bachelor Environmental Center, and Senior Aquarist. Dane also has experience as a Lead Kayak Guide at Summertide Kayak Tours and as a Senior Aquarist at Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Additionally, Dane has owned and operated Waterborn Productions, where they bought and sold vintage coin-op machines and pop-culture memorabilia. Dane also founded Cooking in the Great Outdoors, a website that explores the intersection of outdoor recreation and food. Earlier in their career, Dane worked as an Outreach Specialist at REI and as an Events Coordinator and East Coast Correspondent at 2old2play.com.

Dane Tullock pursued their education in the field of marine science and biology. From 1986 to 1990, they attended Jacksonville University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Later, from 1993 to 1995, Dane studied at the Florida Institute of Technology, where they pursued a Masters of Science Degree Program (inc) with a focus on marine aquaculture.
