Nicolas Engel currently serves as an Enseignant at Ecole du Louvre and holds the position of Conservateur en chef at Musée national des arts asiatiques - Guimet since January 2022. Previously, Nicolas Engel was a Conseiller musées at DRAC Ile-de-France and worked as an archaeological consultant with the French archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan. Additional experience includes serving as Chief Curator, Curator, and Museum Curator for Paris Municipality from 2013 to 2017, as well as Deputy Director for the French Archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2013. Nicolas Engel began their career as Conservateur at Musée Cernuschi in Paris. Nicolas Engel holds a Master's degree in Afghan Archaeology from EHESS - Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and studied at the Institut National du Patrimoine from 2002 to 2003.
