Jansel Herrera-Gerena is a Machine Learning Operations Engineer at Musco Lighting since April 2022, previously holding the role of Computer Vision Intern. Jansel's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Computational Mathematics from Universidad de Puerto Rico. Experience as a Teaching Assistant for an Introduction to Data Structures course at Iowa State University involved preparing weekly recitations on essential topics. Additionally, Jansel participated in the Technology Development Program as an intern at Optum and contributed to a project at the University of Iowa focused on assessing driving abilities in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.
