Russell Peterson

Co-founder at Munro Vehicles

Russell Peterson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Russell is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Munro Vehicles, an innovative start-up based in Glasgow that develops fully-electric commercial 4x4 vehicles. In this role, Russell is responsible for the ambitious prototype development program.

Prior to Munro Vehicles, Russell worked at Bad Dinosaur as a Director starting in 2017. Bad Dinosaur provides a complete service for building digital products, and Russell took on various responsibilities including project management, product ownership, and business development.

Before Bad Dinosaur, Russell founded Matterhorn Software in 2016. Matterhorn Software aimed to provide rapid and cost-effective digital prototyping services to SMEs. Russell also worked on their own digital products during this time, such as Concrete And Steel and Farming Simulator UK.

In 2012, Russell founded Peterson Agri, which provided support services to agricultural businesses during the summer harvest period. These services included tractor and machinery loan, labour supply, training, team leadership, and technology consulting.

From 2011 to 2016, Russell worked as a self-employed Contract Software Engineer. Russell managed their own digital products, conducted research and development, managed cloud infrastructure, and organized advertising partnerships. Russell also undertook contract development work for clients.

Russell started their career as a Technical Developer at FoneStarz Media Limited in 2009. There, they worked on full stack web development, database administration, quality assurance, team training, and systems administration. Russell collaborated with telecom brands such as o2, Orange, Three, and Vodafone.

Between 2007 and 2009, Russell worked as a self-employed Contract Software Engineer. Before that, they worked as a Stock Controller at Sainsbury's, where they focused on availability and managed shortages, predicted demand, and received goods. Russell also contributed to the trial of a new stock control system and provided feedback to the head office.

Russell Peterson completed their education at various institutions. In 2019-2020, they attended the Institute of the Motor Industry, where they pursued Electric Vehicle eLearning. Between 2011 and 2013, they obtained a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture from The College of West Anglia. Prior to that, they attended The King's School, Ottery St Mary, where they studied English, Maths, Science, and IT.
