Mike Morley has had a diverse work experience. Mike started off in 1996 as the Manager of Information Technology at Michigan Technological University, where they developed web-based applications and implemented a university-wide interview and resume management system. In 2011, they transitioned to the role of Manager of Technology Marketing at the same university. Later in 2015, they became the Assistant Director of Technology Commercialization and eventually rose to the position of Director of Technology Commercialization in July 2017.

Mike Morley has a strong educational background in business administration and management. Mike obtained their MBA degree in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University, completing their studies from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management Information Systems from the same university, studying from 1995 to 1996. Additionally, Mike holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Land Use Management and Planning from Northern Michigan University, which they acquired from 1988 to 1993. In terms of certifications, they attained the Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) designation from the Licensing Executives Society International in 2016, and I-Corps Instructor Training Phase 1 from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in 2023.
