Deborah Hopp

President, MSPC at MSPC

Over a lifelong career in media, Deb has overseen successful teams as an editor, publisher and strategic leader, giving her broad expertise on both the creative and financial sides of the business and a working knowledge of all forms of print and digital media. Whether in the B2B, B2C or custom space, strategy, partnership and talent development are day-to-day drivers. Prior to taking over the agency, Deb was publisher of the two leading Twin Cities magazines, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business. She has led custom publishing, content marketing and digital service work for more than 60 local and national companies and organizations from the Fortune 500 to international associations and Super Bowl 52 and has served as director on more than 20 non- and for-profit organizations.

A strong belief in giving back to the community, Deb has been active in volunteer leadership roles of many of their premier arts, education, civic and social service non-profits. These include Walker Art Center, Minnesota Orchestra, The Children’s Museum, University of Minnesota Foundation, Downtown YMCA, United Way the Greater Twin Cities, Girl Scouts, University of Minnesota Alumni Association, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Minneapolis Downtown Council, Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable, and Health Partners. This work and that on the boards of several for-profit companies offers invaluable insight into other business, communication and strategic practice across industries and operations.

A graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of Minnesota, where she served on staff of the Minnesota Daily, she is proud to have received the Harrison Salisbury Award for Alumni Achievement and the University President’s Award for Alumni Honor. Other awards include the Support for Women Award from the National Association of Professional Saleswomen, the Twin Cities Women Leader Award and the Minnesota Women of Distinction Award. She has taught classes at both the SJMC at the university and the Executive MBA program at the University of St. Thomas.
