Etsuko Kay K. started their work experience as an Engineer at ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation in 1998 and worked there until 2008. Etsuko Kay then worked as an IT Consultant at ITOCHU Minerals and Energy of Australia from 2010 to 2011. After that, they worked as an IT consultant at KDDI Australia from 2012 to 2013. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Information Officer at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group since 2013.

Etsuko Kay K. pursued their education at the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 1996 to 1998, where they completed a Master course in Sociology. Prior to that, between 1991 and 1995, they attended Shinshu University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Comparative Philosophy.
