Maria Somers is an experienced finance and business professional with a comprehensive background in various roles within the Ministry of Social Development since October 2017, including FMIS Product Owner, Subject Matter Expert - Project Lead, Manager Finance - Service Delivery (secondment), and Regional Financial Analyst. Prior experience includes roles as a Business Analyst and Accountant at Manukau Institute of Technology from June 2013 to October 2017, and as a Financial/Business Analyst at Ideal Electrical Suppliers New Zealand from January 2011 to June 2013. Maria holds a Chartered Accountant designation from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) in Computer and Information Systems, both from Massey University.
