Erin Meyer

General Counsel at MS Dept of Education

Erin Meyer currently serves as General Counsel for the Mississippi Department of Education, a position held since May 2022, providing chief advocacy and legal counsel under the Office of the State Superintendent. Prior to this role, Erin operated as a Special Assistant Attorney General within the Mississippi Attorney General's Office from April 2015 to April 2022, leading the Education Division and acting as lead counsel to the Mississippi Department of Education. Previous experience includes serving as State Office Attorney at the Mississippi Department of Human Services and as a Children's Legal Services Attorney in the Florida Department of Children and Families. Erin began legal training as a Certified Legal Intern at the University of Miami Children and Youth Law Clinic, focusing on various areas of law affecting vulnerable populations. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Crime & Justice from the University of Michigan.
