Gaurav Jalan is the Founder and CEO of mPokket, an app-based lending platform that launched in 2016. Gaurav is responsible for providing small ticket short term credit to underserved youth and ensuring that cash is instantly deposited into their bank accounts. Prior to mPokket, Gaurav worked as the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Avant Garde Wealth Management from 2011 to 2017. Gaurav also served as an Investment Analyst at Fidelity International from 2006 to 2011. In addition, Gaurav gained experience as a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain and Company, where they worked on various industries and functional areas as part of project teams from 2001 to 2004.

Gaurav Jalan attended various educational institutions throughout their academic journey. Gaurav completed their ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) at St. Paul's School in Darjeeling, India from 1992 to 1995. Following this, they pursued 12th grade studies with a focus on science at St. James School in Calcutta, India from 1995 to 1997. Gaurav then shifted their educational pursuit to the United States, where they attended Franklin & Marshall College from 1997 to 1999. At Franklin & Marshall College, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics. From 1999 to 2001, Gaurav furthered their education at Amherst College, where they achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Computer Science. Their academic journey continued at Columbia Business School from 2005 to 2006, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance.
