Tantek Çelik is an experienced professional in web standards and technology, currently serving as the Web Standards Lead at Mozilla Corporation since May 2010. Çelik co-founded and manages microformats.org and has been involved with the Global Multimedia Protocols Group (GMPG) as its founder since March 2003. With a background that includes key roles such as HTML5 expert at Revision3 and Chief Technologist at Technorati, Çelik has extensive experience in developing new media products and standards. Past positions also include software development leadership at Microsoft Corporation and Apple Computer. Çelik holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, obtained in 1991 and 1990, respectively.
