Heather 'Vela' Vaughan has a diverse work experience, beginning with a role as a Server at Savoy Bar and Grill in Albuquerque, NM from 2010 to 2011. Heather 'Vela' then moved to Unity Medicine: Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda in 2011, where they served as an Ayurveda Practitioner and Medical Assistant for Dr. from 2011 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017, they held the role of Content Writer, Ayurvedic Practitioner, and Educator at Joyful Belly. During this same time, they also worked as a Freelance Writer, creating stories of healing, health, and travel. In 2015, they took on the role of Lead Practitioner and Supplements Department Manager at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, where they provided customer consultations and education on a variety of modalities. In 2016, they co-founded and co-owned The S'More Pit. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Business Development Associate at FreshPure Waters. Finally, from 2018 to 2022, they served as a Marketing Business Development Consultant at Inward Bound and is currently working as an HR & Admin Manager and Marketing Content Curator at Moxie Scrubs.

Heather 'Vela' Vaughan's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2000-2004), a Certified Yoga Teacher from Yoga Tree (2006), a Graduate of Ayurvedic Studies Programs 1 and 2 from the Ayurvedic Institute, Albuquerque NM (2008-2010), an Advanced Clinical Certificate from the GuruKula Ayurveda Studies Program (2009), and a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (2021-2023). Heather 'Vela' also holds an Ayurvedic Beauty certification from Sonia Masocco Phytotherapy & Ayurveda.
