Wen-Jun Lee has a diverse work experience in various companies. Wen-Jun started their career as a Graduate Accountant at Wesfarmers in 2004 and then moved on to work as an Executive at Macquarie Group from 2005 to 2008. At Macquarie Group, they were involved in Macquarie Capital. Following that, they worked as a Manager in Corporate Finance at Deloitte Australia from 2008 to 2009. Wen-Jun then joined Alinta Energy as a Business Development Executive from 2009 to 2010. Next, they worked as a Commercial Analyst at Tap Oil from 2010 to 2011. Wen-Jun then joined BHP Billiton as a Principal in Business Planning from 2011 to 2014. Currently, they are the Head of Corporate Development at Mount Gibson Iron, where they are responsible for M&A and investments in bulk and base metals. Wen-Jun manages external advisors and internal experts for development and transactional activities. Additionally, they provide financial analysis and recommendations for internal growth opportunities.
Wen-Jun Lee began their education journey in 1999 at The University of Western Australia, where they studied for four years until 2003. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), focusing on law, accounting, and corporate finance.
In 2004, Wen-Jun continued their education by enrolling in the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand program. Wen-Jun successfully completed a Graduate Diploma in the Chartered Accountant Program, concluding their studies in 2006.
In 2020, Wen-Jun attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors for a short course called the Company Directors Course. This course provided him with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a certified GAICD (Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors). The course lasted for one year.
Outside of their formal education, Wen-Jun also obtained a certification in Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies from the University of Cambridge. Wen-Jun completed this certification in November 2022.
