Thomas Hewitt

Principal Project Manager at Mott MacDonald

Thomas Hewitt has extensive work experience in project management and civil engineering. Thomas began their career as a Site Engineer and Assistant Site Manager at Raymond Brown Construction Ltd, where they were responsible for setting out, monitoring works, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Thomas then joined CH2M as a Water Engineer for the TEAM2100 project, specializing in flood defenses. Thomas'srole involved technical report writing, design optioneering, and construction supervision.

Hewitt later worked at the Environment Agency as a Senior User and Asset Performance Team Engineer on the TEAM2100 project, where they reviewed submissions, wrote specifications, and drove project delivery. Thomas then moved to Jacobs, where they held various roles, including Project Engineer, Design Coordinator, and Project Manager. In these positions, they were involved in the technical assessment, options appraisal, business case development, and design of flood defense systems in the Thames Estuary.

Currently, Hewitt works at Mott MacDonald as a Senior Project Manager and Principal Project Manager. In this role, they deliver civil engineering and project management services to clients in the renewable, nuclear, and wider energy generation and transmission sectors. Thomas is responsible for project delivery throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on design and design management.

Thomas Hewitt completed their education as follows:

- From 2012 to 2016, they studied Civil Engineering and earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.

- From 2010 to 2012, they attended Ripon Grammar School and pursued A-levels in Mathematics, Physics, Geography, and Biology (AS).

- From 2005 to 2010, they studied at Doha College, completing IGCSE and GCSE qualifications.

In addition to their formal education, Thomas Hewitt obtained several certifications, including NEC Accredited Project Manager (ECC) from NEC Contracts®, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) from the Association for Project Management, Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) from CITB, Construction Skills Certification Scheme from CITB, Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme from CITB, and First Aid at Work from St John Ambulance. Thomas is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and has obtained Professional Chartership as CEng MICE.
