Scott co-founded Motista to help firms accelerate growth by using predictive intelligence on emotions. His vision - empower business leaders to understand how customers’ emotions predict behaviors and then activate that intelligence, at scale, through marketing and customer experiences - forms Motista’s foundation today.
As CEO, Scott has pioneered Motista’s solutions and led Motista to serve clients across the consumer goods, retail, financial services, healthcare, technology and hospitality industries.
Scott is a leading expert in customer intelligence and organic growth. He writes frequently about these topics and has published articles in The Harvard Business Review, Chief Executive Magazine and CFO Magazine. In addition, he has spoken at events for the National Retail Federation and Google Think.
Prior to co-founding Motista, Scott served as Director of MTECH Ventures at the University of Maryland. Scott led a team responsible for spinning out, financing and incubating new companies based on high-potential innovations. Scott played a significant role in developing companies in the semiconductor, materials, software and homeland security categories. Scott also taught graduate and undergraduate classes. Earlier in his career, Scott provided advanced analytical consulting to private equity investors.
Scott has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 in Silicon Valley and is a current or former member of YPO, the Silicon Valley Alliance of CEOs and the Mindshare CEOs organization.
Scott graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park.
