Waleed Mansoor is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in autonomous vehicle technology and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at Motional since November 2020, Waleed contributes to the Mapping team. Prior to this, Waleed held the position of Software Engineer at Ascent Robotics, Inc., where responsibilities included enhancing lidar-based open-source 3D SLAM solutions and working on traffic simulation tools. Waleed's career at Samsung Electronics spanned nearly a decade, focusing on full-stack development in autonomous vehicles and static analysis for improving code quality. Waleed co-founded a visionary software stack project for small-scale electric vehicles during time at Samsung C-Lab. Earlier experiences include consulting in data mining, research in network protocols, and software engineering for document classification tools. Waleed holds a Master's degree in Computer and Electronics Engineering from Ajou University and a Nanodegree in Self-Driving Car Engineering from Udacity.
