Mahesh Balike has a diverse work experience in various roles related to engineering and management. Mahesh is currently working as a Principal Engineering Team Lead at Motional since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Aptiv from 2019 to 2022 as a Manager, leading a team of Functional Safety Managers and Engineers. Mahesh handled responsibilities such as delivering safety cases, conducting performance reviews, hiring and onboarding new resources, and managing resource workload and budget requirements. Before joining Aptiv, they worked at General Motors from 2010 to 2019 in roles such as Senior System Safety Engineer and System Safety Engineer, where they audited safety work products, executed safety life cycles, and developed safety goals and requirements for various systems. Mahesh also worked at Lear Corporation as a Senior Systems Engineer from 2009 to 2010, where they developed vehicle control module applications and managed the off-shore engineering team. Prior to that, they had a role as a Senior Prod Dev Engineer at Visteon from 2001 to 2008, where they designed and implemented engine control algorithms using model-based and conventional approaches. Mahesh also worked at Ford as a Product Dev Engineer from 1999 to 2001, focusing on vehicle dynamics prediction and design-load development. Mahesh'searliest work experience was as an SAP MM Functional Consultant at IBM Canada from 1998 to 1999, where they implemented SAP modules and conducted trainings.

Mahesh Balike obtained an MSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University, studying from 1991 to 1998.
