Frances Perry is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Head of Engineering at MotherDuck since December 2023, focusing on creating an empowered team to deliver innovative technology and exceptional customer experiences. Previously, Frances held multiple key roles at Google from 2008 to December 2023, culminating as Engineering Director for Google Compute Engine, where responsibilities included leading the Guest Ecosystem organization and addressing the needs of enterprise customers. Other significant positions at Google include Senior Manager/Engineering Director for Cloud Billing, where Frances managed the platform team through substantial growth, and Senior Staff Engineer/Manager for Cloud Dataflow, contributing to the development of the unified batch and streaming programming model and the Apache Beam project. Frances began the professional journey as a Software Engineer on the Flume team, focusing on distributed data processing infrastructure and co-authoring a notable paper. Frances holds a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University and a BA in Computer Science from Cornell University.
