Isabela Dias

Reporter at Mother Jones

Isabela Dias is a seasoned reporter with expertise in politics, immigration, and culture. Currently working at Mother Jones since December 2020, Isabela covers a range of topics and previously held fellowships as a Ben Bagdikian Fellow and Senior Fellow, producing monthly feature-length pieces focused on immigration and politics. As a Global Migration Project Fellow at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Isabela published significant longform features on topics such as the Violence Against Women Act and undocumented sexual assault survivors. Earlier experience includes serving as a Breaking News Reporter at Folha de S.Paulo, where Isabela reported on national events, including the impeachment of former president Dilma Rousseff and the 2016 Olympic Games. Isabela holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University.
