Maloy Mangada has a strong background in scientific research and development, with over 30 years of experience. Their most recent position was as the Senior Director of Translational Sciences at Morphic Therapeutic since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Associate Director of Scientific Services at Cambridge Biomedical Inc. from September 2012 to April 2019. Maloy also served as a Senior Scientist at Unum Therapeutics from December 2015 to April 2016. Before moving into industry roles, Maloy worked as a Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from April 2009 to July 2010 and as a Scientist at Acambis from May 2005 to December 2007. Maloy started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UMass Medical School from November 1998 to May 2005 and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Kanazawa Medical University from April 1998 to November 1998. Maloy was also a Lecturer/Teaching Assistant at the University of the Philippines from June 1990 to September 1993.
Maloy Mangada holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Physics from the University of the Philippines, which was obtained from 1985 to 1990. Maloy then pursued a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of the Philippines from 1990 to 1993. Following that, from 1994 to 1998, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Virology from Nagasaki University. Finally, they completed their education by serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cellular Immunology at UMass Chan Medical School from 1998 to 2005.
