Jun Pataleta started their career as a Technical Support Representative at eTelecare Global Solutions in 2004. They then worked as an Information Analyst at ESS Manufacturing Company, Inc. from February 2005 to July 2005. After that, they worked as an Instructor at Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology from July 2005 to May 2006, where they taught College Algebra and General Physics and managed the MinSCAT Physics Laboratory.

In 2007, Jun Pataleta joined Esperant System Philippines Corp. as a Software Developer, specializing in web applications development and maintenance. They also served as the company's in-house systems and network administrator until May 2010.

From July 2010 to March 2015, Jun Pataleta worked at Ubiquitous Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Software Developer. In this role, they developed and tested mobile, web, and software applications in Android, iOS, Java EE, and PHP. They also produced technical documents, conducted reviews of project deliverables, and served as a Bridge Software Engineer for Japanese clients with on-site assignments in Tokyo and Miyazaki, Japan.

Since July 2015, Jun Pataleta has been working at Moodle. They held several roles at the company, starting as an Analyst Developer from July 2015 to April 2017. Then, they became an Analyst Developer/Integrator from April 2017 to September 2019. Next, they worked as a Senior Analyst Developer/Integrator from September 2019 to June 2020. Jun Pataleta then served as a Team Lead-LMS/Integrator from June 2020 to February 2022, where they provided team and technical leadership, reviewed and integrated contributions to Moodle core, developed new features, triaged and fixed bugs, performed peer reviews, and tested contributions.

Currently, Jun Pataleta holds the position of Integration Lead at Moodle since February 2022.

Jun Pataleta completed a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics with a specialization in Instrumentation from the University of the Philippines, graduating in 2004. In 2006, Jun attended UP Information Technology Training Center and obtained a Certificate in Information Technology with a focus on Network Systems in 2007. Jun has also obtained additional certifications, including being an Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 7 Programmer from Oracle in 2013, a Zend Certified Engineer PHP 5 from Zend in 2010, achieving a Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 from the Japan Foundation in 2010, and being a PhilNITS Fundamental IT Engineer from the Philippine National I.T. Standards (PhilNITS) Foundation, Inc. in 2007.
