Myrel Dyson III is an experienced peer counselor currently serving at the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless since October 2021, and has been actively involved with NAMI - Prince George's County since September 2012, providing support to families and individuals facing mental illness. Myrel has a rich background in peer mentoring, having led various initiatives, including the NAMI Peer Mentoring Project in Lanham, Maryland. Previous roles include Program Assistant at On Our Own, Inc., where responsibilities included WRAP facilitation and event coordination, and Substance Abuse & Mental Health Recovery Specialist at One Voice in Recovery & On Our Own of Dundalk, focusing on group facilitation and motivational speaking. Myrel holds a BSTM in Health Services from DeVry University and multiple certifications, including Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Certified Wrap Recovery Educator.
