Gerardo Cruz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Gerardo currently serves as the Director of Corporate Food Safety and QA at Monterey Mushrooms, LLC, leading the FSQA team across 9 farms in the US and Mexico. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Manager of Corporate FSQA at the same company.

Before joining Monterey Mushrooms, Gerardo was a Senior Manager of FSQA at San Benito Foods, where they implemented and revamped key performance indicators and conducted post-season analysis for process improvements. Gerardo also worked as a Manager of FSQA at FRESH LEAF FARMS, LLC, where they implemented and executed the company's food safety plan and policies.

Earlier in their career, Gerardo worked as a Senior Quality Specialist at Beachbody, providing quality and technical support to product development teams. Gerardo also served as a Food Biochemist at Earthbound Farm, coordinating and monitoring the safety and quality of incoming raw products.

Gerardo then pursued a Master of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from The University of Texas at Dallas from 2009 to 2011. During this time, they also obtained a Master of Science degree in the same field from the University of Texas at Dallas in August 2011.

In addition to their academic achievements, Gerardo Cruz has also earned certifications in the field. Gerardo obtained a PCQI certification in June 2017, and completed advanced HACCP training through the International HACCP Alliance in March 2015.
