Shelby Anderson has a diverse range of work experience. Shelby began their career as a Floor Staff at Regal Entertainment Group in 2010 and worked in that role until 2014. Shelby then joined NC State University, where they served as a Hunt Library Ask Us Student Assistant from 2014 to 2015 and as a Hunt Library Hunt Technology Student Assistant from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, Shelby joined NSG Pilkington as a Coating Supervisor and worked in that role until 2016. Shelby then moved on to Corning Incorporated, where they held multiple roles. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Process Engineer, focusing on modifying coloring lines and receiving new equipment for the facility. From 2018 to 2020, they served as a Process Engineer II, primarily tracking coating selects and monitoring the performance of new draws. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Manufacturing Team Lead, and from 2021 to 2023, they returned to the role of Process Engineer II.

Most recently, in 2023, Shelby joined Monolith as a Process Engineer.

Shelby Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, completing their studies between 2012 and 2015.
