Chalo Salvador has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and teaching. Chalo started their career as a Web Developer at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in 2008. Chalo later worked as a Web Developer at SLONCORP - CRIFA CIA. LTDA. from December 2008 to August 2010. Subsequently, they joined Jobsity as a Web Developer from September 2010 to July 2012.
From September 2012 to September 2013, Chalo worked as a Senior Web Developer at Queen's College, The University of Melbourne. After that, they engaged in freelance software development, providing services as a Freelance Software Developer from August 2014 to January 2018. During this time, they developed various web pages such as FMB8 and Betero.
In 2017, Chalo joined Grupo Menta as a Software Developer, leading a team of 8 developers on various projects. Chalo utilized different technologies like React, Angular, Laravel, Firebase, Strapi, and more. Chalo also interacted with clients and developed user stories based on their requirements, employing Scrum for project planning and management.
In 2018, Chalo co-founded the startup Profe a Tiempo, which connected students with private teachers in Quito, Ecuador. Chalo built a web application for matching students and teachers based on requirements and geolocation. Additionally, they implemented a payment gateway using Firebase Cloud Functions.
Chalo also volunteered as a Software Developer at ReciVeci from March 2018 to January 2022, where they developed the MVP of the ReciApp. The app aimed to improve the working conditions of people collecting recyclable materials in Ecuador. The team won competitions in LATAM and secured funding, enabling them to hire junior developers and add more features to the app.
Chalo has also contributed to the academic field as a professor at Escuela Politécnica Nacional. Chalo served as a part-time professor from October 2017 to August 2018 and as a full-time professor from August 2018 to October 2020. From October 2020 to January 2022, they continued as a part-time professor. Throughout their tenure, they taught various subjects, including web development, distributed applications, UI design, programming fundamentals, e-commerce, computer architecture, operating systems, software development methodologies, and operations research. Chalo also acted as a thesis tutor for several projects, including the development of a hybrid mobile application for a transportation company.
Chalo's most recent work experience is as a Software Engineer at Monogram, starting from January 2022.
Chalo Salvador began their education journey in 1999 at Colegio Cardenal Spellman, where they pursued a Bachillerato Internacional degree in Informática. After completing their secondary education in 2003, they joined Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. From 2004 to 2009, they studied Systems Engineering and obtained an Engineer's Degree.
Continuing their academic pursuits, Chalo then enrolled at the University of Melbourne in 2012. Over the course of two years, they pursued a Master's Degree in Engineering with a focus on Distributed Computing. This educational experience equipped him with advanced knowledge in their chosen field.
Additionally, in May 2010, Chalo Salvador obtained a certification in Zend PHP from Zend Technologies, further demonstrating their commitment to professional growth and expertise in the domain.
