Andre de Frere has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Andre started their career at AEI New Zealand Limited in 1998, where they worked as a Developer and Technical Support. Their responsibilities included maintaining infrastructure and software environments, as well as working on transportation and accounting databases.
In 2000, Andre joined Danzas AEI as a Developer, Database Administrator, Technical and Software Support. Andre was involved in various tasks such as maintaining internal tools and databases, developing software, and providing technical support. Andre also played a key role in designing and implementing a countrywide communications platform.
Andre then moved on to work at DHL Global Forwarding in 2004 as a Customer Integration Analyst. Here, they focused on designing and implementing custom EDI solutions between customers and the organization. Andre also worked on maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases and developing internal tools.
In 2005, Andre joined Altiris as a Developer, Sustained Engineering. Their responsibilities included resolving concerns identified by the larger development organization and customers. Andre worked on bug fixes, troubleshooting customer configuration issues, and maintaining customer environments.
From 2007 to 2011, Andre worked at Symantec as a Principal Software Engineer. Andre was part of a small development team and was responsible for identifying and fixing product issues. Andre also worked closely with support teams and customers to resolve concerns and bugs.
In 2011, Andre joined Snakk Media as a Director, where they focused on various aspects of the company's operations.
Finally, Andre joined MongoDB in 2012 and held various positions, including Technical Support Engineer, Technical Services Team Lead, Director of Technical Services (Asia Pacific), and currently Area VP (APAC), Technical Services.
Throughout their career, Andre has demonstrated strong technical skills, customer-focused problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
From 1995 to 1998, Andre de Frere attended the University of Auckland, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
