Sawyer Theisen began their career in 2011 as a Customer Service Representative at American Customer Care. In 2014, they took on the role of Software Solutions Intern at Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C. and simultaneously worked as a Transportation Group Service Intern at Cottingham & Butler. In 2015, they became a Boxing Instructor at TITLE Boxing Club. Finally, in 2017, they joined Monarc as VP of Sales and later assumed the role of Director of Sales and Marketing, where they were responsible for customer acquisition and account management.

Sawyer Theisen attended Wahlert Catholic High School from 2008 to 2012, where they earned their High School diploma. Sawyer then attended the University of Iowa from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. From 2013 to 2016, they also attended the University of Iowa for Accounting, but did not receive a degree.
