Ed Phillips has had a diverse range of work experiences in the healthcare field. Ed started their career at Charleston Area Medical Center Health System as an Administrator of Preventive Services, where they worked from 1986 to 1992. Ed then moved on to the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, where they served as the Director of Community Health from 1993 to 1995. After that, they worked as the Administrator at the Monongalia County Health Dept from 1995 to 2001. Ed then joined the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center as a Legal Counsel in the HSC Risk Management & Legal Services department, where they worked from 2002 to 2014. Finally, they became the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Monongalia Health System in 2014.
Ed Phillips completed their Bachelor of Science degree in a field of study that is not specified from West Virginia University, where they attended from 1981 to 1985. Following this, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the same institution, attending from 1997 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Juris Doctor (Law) degree from West Virginia University, completing it from 2001 to 2004.
