Luiz Mello is a seasoned operations professional with extensive experience in the specialty chemical industry. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of Operations at Momentive since January 2016, Luiz oversees all manufacturing operations at the Sistersville site, managing over 400 personnel and ensuring performance across various functions including production, engineering, maintenance, product quality, environmental health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Prior to this role, Luiz held key positions such as Operations Manager at Momentive, Industrial Director at Unigel overseeing eight plants, and Manufacturing Director for the Americas at Reichhold Inc., where leadership spanned multiple geographical locations and resulted in significant cost savings. Earlier in the career, Luiz served as Plant Manager at Dow Quimica, focusing on production management and environmental health and safety initiatives. Luiz holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal da Bahia.
