Xin Cindy Yan has worked for three organizations. Xin Cindy began their career in 2014 as a Member of the Executive Board for Women in Science at Yale (WISAY). In 2017, they joined Merck as an Associate Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist. Most recently, in 2022, they became a Principal Scientist at MOMA Therapeutics.

Xin Cindy Yan obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Fudan University in 2012. Xin Cindy then participated in a Full-Time Exchange Program in Chemistry at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2010 to 2011. Xin Cindy went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry from Yale University, which they completed in 2017.
