An Austrian citizen, he has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Economics in Vienna, Austria. Since 2001 he has been a member of the Executive Board of Plansee Holding AG, a global private industrial group based in Austria, which is engaged in the manufacture of refractory metals. Prior to his current assignment, he held various management responsibilities within the same Group.
