Sima Zacharek serves as an Associate Scientific Director in Translational Oncology at Moderna since March 2017. Prior roles include Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist within the same field. Sima's earlier experience encompasses a Senior Scientist position at the Belfer Center for Applied Cancer Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute from May 2015 to March 2017, and Research Scientist roles at the Belfer Institute and Belfer Center from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, Sima was a Research Fellow at Children's Hospital Boston from November 2006 to December 2011. Academically, Sima holds a BS in Biology and Spanish Literature from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, an MS in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University, and a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
