Ahmed Kamal has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering and data analytics field. Ahmed began their career at Microsoft in 2000 as a Software Performance Development Engineer/Test. Ahmed then took on a Program Manager role on the SQL Server Reporting Services Team, where they researched potential data visualization models and filed patents in the area of data visualizations. Ahmed then moved to the Mobile PC Essentials Dev Team as a Software Development Engineer, where they worked on performance tools such as the Vista Logo requirement tool and laptops' boot/resume performance visualization tool. Ahmed then became a Lead Software Development Performance Engineer for the Tablet PC performance team during the Windows Vista release timeframe. Ahmed's last role at Microsoft was as a Software Development Engineer/Test, where they worked on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 performance tools, Perfmon Xperfinfo, and Event Tracing For Windows (ETW) development.
In 2011, Ahmed Kamal moved to Edifecs as a Performance Engineering Manager and to Mnemonic Technologies, LLC as a Co-Founder and Director. Two years later, they joined Tableau Software as a Senior Manager of Performance Engineering. In 2015, they began working at Sogeti as a Senior Engineering Manager of Performance & Capacity Planning Engineering. Currently, they are employed at Amazon as a Senior Data Analytics/Performance/Release Engineering Management.
Ahmed Kamal obtained a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in Computer from Cairo University between 1989 and 1993. In 2017, they received a Tableau Desktop 10 Qualified Associate certification from Tableau Software.
