Wilmer Jovel-Reyes started their work experience in 2016 as a Bindery Assistant at GMPC Printing. In 2018, they joined M&J Engineering Group as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, they have worked on various projects such as the NYSDOT Design-Build Services for Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvements, MTA Bridges and Tunnels Construction Administration and Inspection Services, and NJTA Construction Supervision Services for Installation of Hybrid Changeable Message Signs.

Wilmer Jovel-Reyes completed their high school education at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest from 2010 to 2014, earning a High School Diploma. Wilmer then pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. Alongside their formal education, Wilmer Jovel-Reyes obtained several additional certifications. These include the Drilled Shaft Inspector Certification from NETTCP, obtained in April 2023, the HMA Construction Technologist Certification from NJSAT, obtained in April 2022, the Work Zone Safety Awareness certification from Rutgers University, obtained in March 2021, the Confined Space Entry for Construction certification from 360training.com, obtained in September 2018, the OSHA 10 Hour - Construction certification from 360training.com, obtained in July 2018, and the Traffic Control Coordinator certification from Rutgers University, obtained in April 2021.
