Shahin Shafiq has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of transportation engineering. shahin most recently served as a Sr. Project Manager at M&J Engineering, P.C., where they handled various transportation projects involving highway design, drainage, signals, and ITS. Their responsibilities included design-build and conventional design projects, as well as pursuing new projects, writing proposals, and attending interviews.

Prior to that, Shahin worked at KCI Technologies, Inc. as a Sr. Project Manager and the head of the drainage department. shahin was involved in transportation and complex infrastructure projects, including mobility and complete street projects, interchange improvements, and GEC projects with several cities.

Before that, Shahin worked at the Florida Department of Transportation as a Transportation Engineer in the roadway design group. Their role involved coordinating with different agencies and subcontractors, evaluating and selecting consultants, and performing roadway design.

Earlier in their career, Shahin worked at Kimley-Horn as an Engineer III, supporting the transportation and infrastructure groups. shahin contributed to various complex roadway projects and provided drainage support for land development projects in multiple locations.

Shahin Shafiq has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Lamar University and another Master's degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. shahin obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in May 2005, followed by the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in January 2006. In March 2012, Shahin Shafiq acquired the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Additionally, they obtained the Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification from the Institute of Transportation Engineers - UCLA in June 2014. Most recently, in January 2022, Shahin Shafiq obtained the Certified General Contractor certification from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
