Stephen Skelton is an experienced professional with a diverse background in leadership, education, and public service. Currently serving as a Captain 31A MP and Company Commanding Officer with the Mississippi State Guard since 2007, Skelton has also contributed to the education sector as a teacher at Leflore County High School from October 2010 to July 2017. Prior experience includes work in medical coding and claims processing at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi from 1998 to 2001, and serving as a Child Support Enforcement Officer for the Mississippi Department of Human Services from 1991 to 1996. Stephen Skelton holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law Studies from Mississippi College.
