Tom Barnett is the current Vice President, Chief Information & Digital Officer at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems. Prior to their current role, Tom served as the Chief Information Officer for University of Rochester Medical Center from October 2016 to April 2020. In this role, Tom was responsible for leading the Academic Medical Center's enterprise data warehousing and analytics strategy, revenue cycle / business systems (Finance, HR, SCM) portfolios, connectivity strategies for ACO and Transitions of Care (TOC) initiatives, Meaningful Use Initiatives, Data Governance Strategies, Mobile IT Strategy, biomedical Device Integration, and expanding NorthShore's digital health capabilities across an integrated Epic platform.
From June 2013 to September 2016, Tom served as the Vice President, Healthcare Information Technology at NorthShore University HealthSystem. In this role, Tom led NorthShore's enterprise data warehousing and analytics strategy, revenue cycle / business systems (Finance, HR, SCM) portfolios, connectivity strategies for ACO and Transitions of Care (TOC) initiatives, Meaningful Use Initiatives, Data Governance Strategies, Mobile IT Strategy, biomedical Device Integration, and expanding NorthShore's digital health capabilities across an integrated Epic platform.
Prior to their role at NorthShore University HealthSystem, Tom served as the Vice President – Application Services and IT Operations at Henry Ford Health System from January 2006 to May 2013. In this role, Tom was responsible for leading Henry Ford's enterprise data warehousing and
Tom Barnett completed their undergraduate degree at Oakland University in Management Information Systems. Tom then went on to obtain their MBA at Oakland University in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. Finally, they obtained their certification from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional (PMP).
Tom Barnett reports to Jason Little, President & CEO. They are on a team with Keith Norman - VP of Government Affairs, Nancy Averwater - SVP & Chief Human Resources Officer, and Chris Anderson - VP, Mississippi Operations.
