John Schiel has a diverse work experience spanning several companies in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors. John currently works as a Product Manager - Research Solutions at Mirus Bio LLC starting from January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Product Manager in CR at Synthego Corporation from April 2022 to January 2023. From December 2020 to April 2022, they held the position of Director - Cell Therapy Research at Artisan Biotechnologies, and also briefly worked as a Senior Scientist 2 at the same company in October and November 2020. Before joining Artisan Biotechnologies, they worked at Horizon Discovery as a Biology R&D Manager from April 2019 to October 2020. John also held several research positions at Horizon Discovery, including R&D Senior Research Scientist II, R&D Senior Research Scientist I, and R&D Scientist II from 2017 to 2019. Prior to Horizon Discovery, they worked at GE Healthcare as an R&D Scientist II from June 2014 to August 2017. John began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UMass Medical School from November 2012 to May 2014. Overall, John Schiel has a strong background in product management, research and development, and scientific research in the biotechnology and healthcare fields.

John Schiel completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry at Colorado State University from 2002 to 2006. John then pursued further education and received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell/Cellular, Molecular Biology, and Development from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus between 2007 and 2012. Most recently, John is currently enrolled at Cornell University, where they are pursuing a Product Marketing Certificate, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
