Christopher Saunders, MPA, is a retired Police Captain with extensive experience serving the Miramar Police Department from September 1998 to October 2021. Beginning a law enforcement career as a police aide in 1982, Christopher held various supervisory roles, including overseeing training units, community resource management, and patrol divisions across the city. Key accomplishments include coordinating the activity of 14 field training officers and directing a school resource unit comprising 21 officers. Christopher's accolades include being named Miramar Police Officer of the Year in 2002 and Broward County Crime Stoppers Officer of the Month in 2003. Christopher earned a Master of Public Administration from Barry University and completed an Executive Leadership Program at Nova Southeastern University. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Park Ranger for the City of Fort Lauderdale.
