Joe Torrey has a diverse work experience in the entertainment industry. Joe started their career at Six Flags in 2004 as a Stunt Performer and Certified Pyro Technician. Joe worked there until 2006. In 2006, they joined SAG-AFTRA, where they held the role of SAG/AFTRA. Joe then moved to Mirage Entertainment in 2007, where they started as a Manager/Performer. Joe later became a Stunt Coordinator and ultimately the Director of Show Operations. Their tenure at Mirage Entertainment lasted until 2015.

Joe Torrey has a diverse education history spanning several years. Joe obtained a Certification in Theater/Arena Rigging from Rigstar Rigging School from 2014 to 2017. In 2011, they completed SFX 101 and received a Certificate of Completion. Joe also completed the FXSS Stunt Workshop in 2010, earning another Certificate of Completion. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, they became a Licensed Shooter (Proximate Audience) as part of their training as a pyrotechnician at Six Flags, America, in Maryland. In 2003, Torrey completed the USA Stunt Workshop, where they gained knowledge in various stunt techniques.

Alongside their formal education, Joe Torrey has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2022, they completed the courses "Communicating with Confidence" and "Marketing Communications" through LinkedIn. In 2016, they received the Open Water Diver certification from PADI. Additionally, in 2014, Torrey obtained the Rigger Level 2 certification from Rigstar.
