Herbert Otim has a wealth of work experience in the software engineering and IT fields. In 2021, they began working as a Software Engineer for Minut and Kanzu Code. At Kanzu Code, they developed and maintained front-end and back-end functionality of applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, Nodejs and React tech web stack, and completed SQL database design projects, optimizing queries, tables, views, and functions. From 2013 to 2021, they worked for PwC as an Enterprise Systems Engineer - Africa, Assistant IT Manager and IT Associate - Business Technology Solutions. During this time, they led the development, improvement and operation of a web based proprietary telephone disbursements system, worked to automate, develop, and deploy online notification tools using C# and JavaScript with an SQL database, developed and deployed customized data-centric web applications using ASP, managed Windows servers and networks, performed regular system data backup and quarterly data integrity tests, and trained and demonstrated new systems and technologies. In 2012, they were a Systems Administrator for the National Agricultural Research Organisation.

Herbert Otim holds a Master of Science in Information Systems from Lund University, which they obtained between 2019 and 2020. Herbert'sBachelor's degree in Information Technology was obtained from Makerere University between 2008 and 2011. Otim also holds certifications in Python, Data Analysis with Python, Data Science Professional Certificate, Machine Learning with Python, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), and Python for Data Science and AI.
