Jane S. Chen

Associate at Mintz

Jane is a corporate attorney who counsels private and public companies through complex transactions and advises clients on a broad spectrum of corporate and securities issues. She focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, public and private financings and securities law matters. Jane is experienced in supporting clients in a variety of industries, including life sciences, health care, technology, and energy & sustainability.

Prior to joining Mintz, Jane worked as an associate at an international law firm, handling corporate and securities transactions. Before practicing law, Jane worked as a trader for a New York–based hedge fund, where she managed and traded equity portfolios of companies listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Jane’s finance background allows her to uniquely understand clients’ business needs and to navigate and manage risk for her clients.

Jane has served as a legal extern with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and as a policy intern in the United States Treasury Department. She also served as a judicial intern with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and clerked for the 24th Judicial District Court in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, as well as for a Washington, DC–based boutique law firm.

In law school, Jane co-wrote a petition for certiorari submitted to the United States Supreme Court while participating in the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program. She was active in the school’s Corporate and Business Law Society and Asian American Law Students Association.

Jane is active in Mintz’s minority attorney affinity group (MIATTY) and has chaired the group’s Diversity Retreat Committee.
