Jeffrey Treptau

Senior Optical Engineer at Minnetronix

Jeffrey Treptau has over 26 years of experience in optical engineering. Jeffrey currently works as a Senior Optical Engineer at Minnetronix, Inc. since March 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Onto Innovation (formerly Rudolph Technologies) from September 2015 to December 2019 as a Senior Optical Engineer. At Onto Innovation, they designed imaging and illumination subsystems for semiconductor wafer inspection microscopes and developed assembly processes for a 3D height measurement system.

Before Onto Innovation, Jeffrey worked at Carestream from August 2012 to September 2015 as a Principal Optical Engineer. There, they designed and set up a laser lab/cleanroom and developed processes for laser etching silver nanowire material.

Prior to that, they worked at Seagate Technology as a Staff Development Engineer from January 2003 to October 2004. Jeffrey implemented a thermal testing metrology solution and supervised a technician.

Before Seagate, Jeffrey was a Senior Project Engineer at ADC Telecommunications from December 2000 to August 2002. Jeffrey designed wavelength selective optical components for fiber optic telecommunications networks.

Jeffrey also worked at Seagate Technology as a Staff Development Engineer from October 1998 to December 2000, where they applied Six Sigma techniques and developed prototype manufacturing processes.

Their earlier experience includes working as a Senior Optical Design Engineer at NCR Corporation from April 1996 to October 1998, where they designed optical systems for analysis instruments and bar code scanners. Jeffrey also worked as an Optical Engineer at North American Lighting, Inc. from June 1994 to April 1996, where they designed optical prescriptions for automotive lamps and performed photometric testing.

Jeffrey Treptau obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Bethel University in the years 1985 to 1989. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of Arizona from 1989 to 1992, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences.
