Mike Dougherty is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in public engagement and journalism. Currently serving as the District 6 Director of Public Engagement and Communications for the Minnesota Department of Transportation since December 2013, Mike oversees communications and public engagement operations across an 11-county district, managing a team of two. Previously, Mike held roles such as Local News Editor and Features Writer at Post-Bulletin Co., LLC, and has experience as a freelance writer/editor. With a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of St. Thomas, Mike has a strong foundation in media, having also worked as a staff writer in various capacities covering education, government, and local news.
