Maia Hendel-Paterson has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Maia began their career as a Program Coordinator at the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC) in 2003, where they coordinated HIV/AIDS educational programs for healthcare professionals and served as a liaison between MATEC and Minority Community Training Partners. Maia then joined the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs in 2004 as a Training Coordinator. In this role, Maia directed all aspects of an annual conference for over 400 participants, coordinated and presented local and statewide trainings for crime victim advocates, and led a 14-member conference planning committee. In 2018, they transitioned to the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, where they initially served as an Education Specialist before being promoted to Education Project Manager in August 2019.
