Denise DeLuca is a seasoned professional in sustainable design and education, currently serving as the Founder of Wild Hazel since February 2022, where the focus is on guiding individuals to align personal values with ecological principles. Denise has held various academic roles at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design since January 2012, including teaching courses in Creative Leadership and Biomimetic Design. As a Faculty member at the Amani Institute since June 2016, Denise contributes to training talent for the social sector. Denise co-founded BCI: Biomimicry for Creative Innovation, promoting biomimicry for sustainable solutions from May 2010 to February 2023, and also served as Education Director for the International Living Future Institute in 2017. Previous roles include co-founding Vibrant OS, leading projects at Swedish Biomimetics 3000, and various outreach positions with the Biomimicry Institute and Biomimicry Guild. Denise holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with further doctoral studies initiated at Iowa State University.
