Chief Of Sovereign Wealth Funds Unit at Ministry of Finance - Chile

Francisco Vergara, CFA has had a diverse work experience in the finance sector. Francisco started their career in 1998 at CITIGROUP as a Credit Analyst, where they provided forecasting and evaluation of loan promotions. In 2000, they joined ENDESA CHILE S.A. as a Financial Analyst, focusing on budgeting, strategic planning, and financial management of subsidiaries. In 2004, they moved on to The World Bank as a Financial Officer, where they played a crucial role in developing and monitoring investment strategies for a trust fund portfolio. Since 2008, they have been working at the Ministry of Finance - Chile as the Chief of the Sovereign Wealth Funds Unit, where they are responsible for supervising investment policies for sovereign wealth funds worth $24 billion.

Francisco Vergara, CFA, holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Finance from The George Washington University, which they completed from 2002 to 2003. Prior to this, from 1989 to 1995, they attended Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and obtained a degree in Ingeniería Civil Industrial. In addition to their education, Francisco Vergara has also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in August 2008.
