Francesco Asaro is a highly experienced data scientist and engineer, currently serving as the Lead Data Scientist at MindEarth since September 2023. Prior to this role, Francesco worked as a Data Scientist at Leithà | Unipol Group from December 2020 to September 2023, focusing on innovative solutions for insurtech related to natural perils and extreme events across various insurance phases using advanced data techniques. Francesco also held a role as an R&D System Engineer at TMC Italia, where contributions were made to the development of an airborne missile warning system. Academic experience includes positions as a Teaching Assistant and Postgraduate Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, where expertise was developed in telecommunications and geoinformatics. Francesco holds a PhD in Information Technology - Telecom Engineering and has advanced degrees in Environmental & Geomatic Engineering as well as Geomatics.
