Val Kessell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career in 2002 as a Flagship Store Manager at Orange Retail, where they successfully ran three high-grade concept retail stores. Val then worked as a Branch Manager at Barclays Bank before moving to Britannia Building Society as a Bank Manager. In 2008, Val joined Reed in Partnership as a Learning and Development Executive, responsible for the professional development of employees in a welfare to work recruitment environment. They also served as a Business Manager, overseeing the implementation and operation of a government-funded recruitment contract. Val then joined Vodafone as a Learning and Development Consultant, where they built capability across the Enterprise function. In 2014, Val became a Leadership Development Specialist at DST Systems before transitioning to Pareto Law as a Training Consultant and later as a Senior Training Consultant. At Kantar Consulting, Val held the role of Associate Director, focusing on navigating big data and helping global FMCG companies optimize their sales and marketing capabilities. Most recently, Val joined Mindbeat as a Partnerships Director in 2023.
Val Kessell attended Tom Hood School from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained 9 GCSE's A*-C. In 2009, they enrolled at BPP Business School and completed the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice in 2010. Additionally, Val obtained the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from Scrum Alliance in March 2020.
